How Do I... Participate in a Monday or Saturday WIP Critique?
1. Have you registered on the Round Rock Writers Guild forum?
YES: Go to 2
NO: Register by clicking the “Register” link at the top of the page
2. Have you attended a meeting?
YES: Go to 3
NO: Let us get a look at ya! Come join us at Lamppost Coffee for one of our Work In Progress (WIP) meetings so we can meet you and you can become familiar with our process. New members don’t need to participate, as they do not yet have access to submissions. Just come listen, and be prepared to say the following phrase: “I laughed. I cried. It became a part of me.” Don’t worry, we’ll tell you when.
WIP meetings happen every Monday from 6 pm to 8 pm, and every 3rd Satuday of the month from 11 am to 1 pm.
3. Can you see a header labeled “Works in Progress” with the following boards in it: “Mon WIP” and “Sat WIP”?
YES: Go to 4
NO: Create a private message. Your recipient should be “admin”. Tell us who you are, which meeting you attended, and that you want to participate in WIP. Yes, you have to go to a meeting first. It's a privacy matter. Trust me, once you put your darlings out there, you'll be glad for this hoop.
4. Have you RSVP’d?
YES: Go to 5
NO: Find the appropriate thread under the “Works in Progress” header and tell everyone you’ll be going. Follow the format outlined in the first post and upload your submission. Make sure you read through all the other submissions by the meeting and have your notes ready!
5. There is no 5! There’s just four easy-peasy steps!
Admin: Head's up ... if you had access to the WIP group, but haven't been active on the forum in the last 6 months, your access has been limited. If you are interested in becoming active with WIP again, just contact Admin.

kathi: BellyBlast - if you do not yet have access to the WIP pages, you'll want to come Monday night, sit in, make sure you want us to perform critiques for you and you are willing to do so for us. Then Solee will give you access. See you Monday!

kathi: Say, Kathrine, I noticed you've scheduled the Thursday night Write-Ins to run from 7-9. Was there a request to make them later than the WIPs?

Admin: Head's up ... I have updated the meeting descriptions both here and at MeetUp to more closely resemble each other and what we're actually doing. If you see mistakes, please bring them to my attention! Thanks!

Admin: I have also added meeting dates/times through Feb 2019 for Mon WIP/Thur WriteIn and through Mar 2019 for Saturday meetings. Let me know if you see errors. I put all the meetings on the forum calendar but it's very helpful if you RSVP at Meetup.

Bill: Is there a topic/prompt for story challenge? I can't find it.

deishacr69: I am still figuring things out here and have read many of the stories. I'm hoping to be better soon so that I can relish in the buffet of everyone's minds.

Bill: Kathi (with an eye), I posted the prompts for today's group on the Poetry page for 7/20....now if we can keep admin from deleting it. Nah....she/they would not do that. Would they?

liz1745: Hi Kathrine, it's Elizabeth from last night's WIP. I still don't seem to have access to SIP files. Is there something else I need to do?
Oct 1, 2019 23:27:36 GMT
kathi: Greetings all! For Shop Talk on 10/12, please be sure to bring something to write with as we will be working on exercises to improve our "showing" skills. If you have a piece of your own writing you'd like to exercise on, bring that as well!
